No, you cannot do Let's Hear It for the Boy. It's overdone. This is a tough category for so many of us, yet absolutely necessary to be competitive today. You've got to find a song that tells a story, speaks to someone specific, hits all the right (high) notes, and (because there are so few songs that actually do that) isn't overdone. This particular post deals with women's songs in particular. I will do one for men's songs at a later date! Of course, men can always sing women's songs and vice versa! Just find your key.
And, with all pop auditions, have as much fun as you can!!

I Didn't Plan It from Waitress
Firework by KatyPerry
Black Horse and the Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall (whatever happened to her?)

Changing My Major from Fun Home
Sorrow, Done from We, Foxes
"Who Knew" by Pink (Second verse maybe more active than first when looking to make a cut. And OMG I'd never watched this video before now, and I LOVE IT.)
I used to think that every person pursuing a musical theatre career should be required to swing. Like a theatrical version of compulsory military duty.
